Moonwalking: Discover Essential Dreaming - Teachers Course
A wildcrafting course for application towards
the Bioregional Studies Certificate (WBSC)

This course allows students to learn teaching methods linked to the “Moonwalking: Discover Essential Dreaming " experience and includes the practice of Integrative Dreamwork which encourages the practice of “lucid dreaming” and incorporates both waking and sleep dreaming methods in order to promote healing, transformation, guidance and discovery. The course includes the wildcrafting approach to Shinrin Yoku which is Japanese for "Forest Bathing" and means "taking in the forest atmosphere". Our approach to Shinrin Yoku incorporates wildcrafting, which includes a tangible understanding of the sentient forest. Pathfinders are introduced to the many spirit guides that dwell in the forest. Through the use of forest-based teas and essential oils we will explore the subconscious energies that connect the forest with the most ancient part of our soul.
Special Note: This course requires that participants complete "Wildcrafting Basics" course; or they must enroll in the Basics course.

It is being discovered that lucid dreaming is closely related to the human capability of self-reflection -- the so-called metacognition. Researchers have discovered that the brain area which enables self-reflection is larger in lucid dreamers. Thus, lucid dreamers are possibly also more self-reflecting when being awake. Lucid dreamers are aware of dreaming while dreaming. Sometimes, they can even play an active role in their dreams.

A study performed at the University of Lincoln examined 68 participants aged between 18 and 25 who had experienced different levels of lucid dreaming, from never to several times a month. They were asked to solve 30 problems designed to test insight. Each problem consisted of three words and a solution word.

Each of the three words could be combined with the solution word to create a new compound word. For example with the words 'sand', 'mile' and 'age', the linking word would be 'stone'.

Results showed that frequent lucid dreamers solved 25 per cent more of the insight problems than the non-lucid dreamers.

The forest is a single living organism it connects everything. Wildcrafting presents a form of deep ecology that demonstrates how this world is sentient and that the beauty that nature presents to us moves us far beyond our present comprehension. This Moonwalking experience will encourage you to breathe deeply so that you can renew the love within yourself and with everything around you. Our wildcrafted form of shinrin yoku can provide you with deeper and clearer intuition and energy; increased ability to communicate with ecosystems and eros or life force – and a greater sense of joy and community.

Moonwalking: Discover Essential Dreaming Experience

The Wildcraft Forest provides a “Moonwalking” Pathfinder Experience in order to encourage a greater connection to the natural world and dreamscapes. In wildcrafting discovering elements that can create a greater human capacity for self-perception, self-reflection and consciousness development remain important in order to maintain a connection to the layers of sentiency that exist in the natural world.

Using our wildcrafted Shinrin Yoku methods, (Japanese for "Forest Bathing" and means "taking in the forest atmosphere") we will gain a tangible understanding of the sentient forest under the night sky and the light of the Moon. Pathfinders are introduced to the many spirit guides that dwell in the forest and the feeling and imagery that is created by the night. Utilizing a fire we will explore forest-based teas, aromas and essential oils specifically prepared for dreamworking as we explore the subconscious energies that connect the forest with the most ancient part of our soul.

Our “Moonwalking: Discover Essential Dreaming " experience includes our practice of Integrative Dreamwork which encourages the practice of “lucid dreaming” and incorporates both waking and sleep dreaming methods in order to promote healing, transformation, guidance and discovery. The open sharing session after each dreamwork experience includes the opportunity for the person sharing to feel deep into their experiences and to articulate a story which then encourages integration and transformation of these feelings.

Waking meditation, expressive artwork, myth and story, movement and play, guided imagery, journal work are all linked to this nature-based experience that includes Moon and plant spirit energies.
Buddha Shakyamuni said to regard all phenomena as dreams. He used many examples, like an echo, a city in the clouds or a rainbow to illustrate the illusory nature of the phenomenal world. Dreams represent just one type of illusion. The whole universe arises and dissolves like a mirage. Everything about us, even the most enlightened qualities, are also dreamlike phenomena. There's nothing that is not encompassed within the dream of illusory being; so in going to sleep, you're just passing from one dream state to another.
