We teach in the old ways. A walk in the deep forest learning about the mysteries. In conversations between ourselves and the trees.

The Wildcraft Forest welcomes unlimited potential as we explore ancient wisdom associated with the natural world and discover wild foods and medicines in an effort to understand how they help the human condition with both disease prevention and cures. At the same time, we help humans restore and regenerate planet Earth. At the Wildcraft Forest we understand that everything is connected.

How science and civilization describe both “intelligence” and “thinking” remains largely human-centric; however, for wildcrafters this subject becomes rich with possibilities as we consider how the natural world thinks and processes intelligence, feelings and intentions. We seek to help shift human consciousness so that we would all regard plants, forests, water and all of the natural world as “sentient”.

In our Forest Therapy practice, Yasei Shinrin Yoku, we teach the elements of “First Contact” with nature which requires us to rediscover the human abilities that link with tree, plant and forest frequencies. The forest embodies energy frequencies, or vibrations, at source; each plant species has a frequency for various emotions. The forest thinks and feels. The forest communicates. The forest influences human frequencies. Walking through a forest represents the beginning of a journey, allowing oneself to think lightly within the space - losing oneself to a sort of time travel. Quietly dwelling in this sacred space allows our creative mind to open which then softens our logical mind.

At the core of this opportunity to create a relationship with nature are the Six Pillars of Wild Intention: Stewardship, Sentience, Spirit, Science, Semiotics and Sanctuary. Ultimately, what we seek with our prosperity and wealth is “sanctuary”, a place that we can reside with our better angels within a peaceful comfort and a contentment that we have done the things that we needed to do with our lives. Our sanctuary holds a place of safety for our body, mind and spirit; it holds a place for the ones that we love - our community, our tribe. From this place, we can best prepare for the future.

Based in the southern interior of British Columbia, Canada the Wildcraft Forest delivers a variety of programs, services and activities within a number of forest campuses, each within a number of unique biomes. As an organization we have been operating as a nature-based collective since the 1980's.
