At the Wildcraft Forest School we offer skills, insights and inspiration for creating good stewardship and positive change in the world. We engage our participants in transformative education that includes wild dynamics, personal empowerment, responsibility and co-mentorship. Our courses integrate experiential learning and ancient wisdom within the context of wildcrafting.
The Wildcraft Forest School issues a Wildcraft Practitioners Diploma. We offer seasonal classes, seminars, fieldtrips and workshops, which provide an inspirational and creative environment for students ranging from children to adults and from beginners to professionals. The studio village has been operating as a workshop centre for over 30 years. We seek to bring quality programming, from leading edge artists, thinkers and do'ers locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Our scope is to link the arts, creativity, permaculture, food, wellness and activism with wildcrafting.
Wildcrafting Basics introduces participants to the foundations of this ancient art that links to biodiversity, lifestyle, activism, stewardship, Ancestral Mapping and an understanding of Earth energies. Participants will become aware of wild harvesting methods and the uses of wild botanicals. As an introduction this course explains the current role of wildcrafting in activism, work, business, community development, lifestyle and sustainability.
A Two Day Camp
Wildcrafting by Design offers participants a chance to explore the details of Wildcrafting Ethics and Practice and focuses on Stewardship Models that can be implemented by wildcrafters. This course offers students a chance to design stewardship initiatives that they can then move forward personally, as a business, organization, community or within an activist campaign. This course provides support for wildcrafters eager to build an ethical approach to harvesting that links to bioregional stewardship and offers them a co-mentoring environment to construct a narrative that explains “good work” for the planet.
This Plant Spirit Medicines course travels students into rainforest areas to study medicinal plants and trees within the context of wildcrafting. Students will be introduced to wild medicine plant propagation methods that link Earth energies, harvesting and stewardship practices all driven by wild dynamics. Students will be introduced to the art of alchemy that includes exploration into historical blending practices that includes fermentation, extracts, teas and topicals.
The 300 Year View:
A Wildcrafters Design Camp in the forest that examines the future of living, work, community and the wild.
The great changes that are emerging are “cellular” as the Earth, our bodies, consciousness, and our sense of place transition to become more localized. We are abandoning failed systems of hierarchal management and instead, we are empowering ourselves to once again become “mystics” and the "stewards" of Planet Earth. We know what needs to be done, but we must learn guiding and navigation skills, which considers a long view that is multi-generational. This camp contains a dynamic analysis of the micro-trends, which are changing the world closest to us – the cellular world of living, work and community.
Participants in this camp will learn to connect with the living forest so that they can understand natural whole systems so that they can design a better life, connected to the wild.
Wildcrafters Design Camps
“Rewild” is the distance-learning program offered by the Wildcraft Forest School. We offer online courses, seminars and outdoor challenges and restoration programs which provide an inspirational and creative environment for students ranging from children to adults and from beginners to professionals.
The Wildcraft Forest School presents this two-day course that introduces students to the life-force found within a forest; and how a forest can contain different energies and strengths that are associated with Mother Trees.
Students will be introduced to a “forest or land-based qi field” (chu-chong) which refers to the cultivation of an energy field by a Mother Tree.
The Wildcraft Forest offers a unique approach to Shinrin-Yoku which is Japanese for "Forest Bathing" and means "taking in the forest atmosphere". Our approach to Shinrin Yoku incorporates wildcrafting, which includes a tangible understanding of the sentient forest. Our Yasei Shinrin-Yoku introduces participants to the many spirit guides that dwell in the forest. Through the use of forest-based teas and essences we will explore the subconscious energies that connect the forest with the most ancient part of our soul.
This course helps you to explore the hidden communication networks that exist between animals, their spirits and human beings. By the end of this course you will have nurtured your own creative force that enables you to harness the symbiotic relationships that are connected to everything. This is a voyage of discovery as we chart a course through a maze, which you have already begun to explore. But this journey requires great effort and courage; it will challenge every part of your being as it presents what we believe to be uncertain - as the fantastic. Your life will change as you discover that you are not alone – you exist within a life-force populated by beings that inhabit many different planes of existence – and they are real.
