The Wildcraft Forest presents four different Yasei Shinrin Yoku Weekend Destination Retreats. As forest expeditions each is connected to a different element of energy in the diverse pristine forests of British Columbia.

When you explore Hygge with us we provide pathways for you to explore the natural beauty of British Columbia including easy forested walks to remote waterfalls and beaches. Cozy glamping tents and caravans provide an inviting place to read a novel or write that book that has been waiting for you.

Bringing hygge into the forest is a perfect match for a grounding, soul-nourishing experience. Join our 3-day retreats tailored for off-grid glamping in the forest with forest therapy, reading and journaling options all supported with cozy, slow-living, and the connection-based essence of hygge:

A Sacred Fire under the Milky Way offers the perfect event to end a day of forest meditations and gentle walks.

The Wildcraft Forest is a wildcrafters village at the edge of the Monashee Mountains in British Columbia. The site of a 150 year old roadhouse is continues to serve as a trailhead and departure point from where visitors and explorers can reach the remote Monashee Mountains. This place gave birth to the art of Yasei Shinrin Yoku and its core elements of spiritual ecology. Here ancient tales of nature spirits including those of the Elves reside in the forest and around the sacred fire circle.

The village is now open for you to find your rest, renewal and dreams all within the deep comfort of Hygge whether it be in one of the fully furnished glamping tents; meditation spots deep in the old growth forest; around the sacred fire and the endless streams of the Milky Way; or a morning tea sitting on one of the comfy couches in a working artists studio.

You belong here.

For an additional fee you can add an Ayurvedic Head Massage, Marma Therapy, Tree Reading or Ancestral Mapping Sessions to your retreat. We are 8 minutes from Lumby where you have access to quaint town amenities. And we are near enough to Echo Lake, Mable Lake, Rainbow Falls, and more that you can access them within a stunning 30 to 40 min cruise if a change of book-reading scenery is your jam.

Included in this fee are the glamping tent accommodations, comfort food meals, snacks, coffee and chilled tea bar.

The Taste of Hygge
You will experience Hygge culinary delights which blend wildcrafted ingredients, outdoor cooking and extreme comfort food.

A Hygge meal is about creating a warm, cozy, and comforting food experience that fosters a sense of wellbeing and enjoyment. It emphasizes slow, mindful eating, sharing with friends and loved ones, and savoring simple pleasures. Think of hearty, comforting dishes like stews, soups, and pastries, often with a focus on seasonal ingredients and homemade elements, like homemade bread or pie.

This learning retreat includes meals and snacks that change with the season and the forest. We will share the menu in advance of your arrival.

A Great Learning Opportunity
Here at the Wildcraft Forest School we have developed these Hygge Retreats to compliment and support our various certification programs like Yasei Shinrin Yoku Practitioners Training, Shamanic Coach Training, Wildcrafting and Sanctuary Forest Design. We believe that Hygge offers complimentary experiences that will elevate the skills of our students as it is presented within a working forest farm environment.

Learn all about Hygge
as you unplug in comfort

Hygge (pronounced "hoo-ga") is a Danish concept that translates roughly to "coziness" or "well-being". It's a way of life that embraces warmth, comfort, and the simple pleasures of life, fostering a sense of contentment and connection with loved ones. Hygge is not just about physical comfort, but also about creating a positive atmosphere and enjoying the present moment.
