Indigo Forest School Practitioner Training
An Indigo Forest School helps
children and youth rewild
The Indigo Forest School Practitioner Program offers a transformative experience for practitioners as they deliver experiences to children, youth and parents. This program allows practitioners to diversify their present K-12 school, summer camp and faith-based school as well as daycare offerings. This certification program includes a multi-day training camp supported by a Distance Learning component. The camp serves as a means by which participants can move through lesson modules quickly and effectively.
The Indigo Forest School Practitioner Certification Program shares our unique approach towards connecting and teaching about sentient nature and then applies these methods to the world of child and youth education. The program also offers training, curriculum and ongoing toolkits which will strengthen teaching opportunities including the special needs carried by both Indigo Children and Indigo Parents. This program can be completed either through one of our in-person camps or through online distance learning.
This program offers practitioners a chance to explore ecosystems and how nature communicates with us. It provides clear examples of how a relationship with nature takes place and why stewardship is so important. Through a series of thought provoking and tangible assignments practitioners will be able to develop stories to explain nature that will both educate and inspire children and youth.
The program includes aspects of our Yasei Shinrin-Yoku teachings which have been adjusted for children and youth but still incorporates wildcrafting, and includes a tangible understanding of the sentient forest. Yasei considers the expansion of our health, purpose and well-being as being directly related to the work that we do for the benefit of the forest – the practice considers that we and the forest are “one” and that through this presence the true natural balance of energy can be achieved that benefits both the individual and the natural world. If we invest in the health and growth of the forest then the forest will invest in us – the medium of exchange is “life-force”.
Through rewilding exercises participants will come to understand how nature works as they get their hands dirty - they will capture the satisfaction connected to creating a legacy that will help Planet Earth in both small and large ways.
